Dr. Alireza Bakhtiari holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science Engineering from Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, a master's degree in Environmental Pollution from Tarbiat Modares University and a PhD in Environmental Geochemistry from Universiti Putra Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

Exemplary professor of Tarbiat Modares University, top researcher of Mazandaran province in the fields of natural resources and agriculture, national chosen the scientific elites in 2021 by Iran science elites federation and top researcher of Tarbiat Modares University in 2014, 2017 and 2019, are among Dr. Riahi's honors.
