The main purpose of the establishment of the faculty of Art of TMU has been providing suitable environment to attract talentful students, train them and make through them scholars in the various branches of arts for the universities all over Iran. Basic Sciences
Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) was established in 1982 as the first post revolution graduate school, in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The meaning of TMU in Farsi implicates its main objective which is to serve as an institute for training university professors
Biological Sciences
Following the establishment of Tarbiat Modares University in 1361, educational and research activities related to life sciences began with three members of the faculty in plant sciences and genetics groups in 1366
Chemical Engineering
The Department of Chemical Engineering at Tarbiat Modares University was found in 1983 and inaugurated as part of the Faculty of Engineering. TMU faculty of Chemical Engineering, as the only graduate faculty of chemical engineering in Iran, was founded in 1982. The main mission of this faculty concerns the training of MSc and PhD qualified students to fulfill the national educational-research needs in the areas of chemical engineering, petroleum, petro-chemistry, polymer, biotechnology, and biomedical engineering.
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Mission of Civil & Environmental Engineering Faculty is to promote engineering knowledge through creative and innovative research and to educate our students to be engineering leaders and to solve complex civil engineering problems
Electrical & Computer Engineering
The ECE Faculty has strong research ties with industry and has significantly increased its collaborations and joint planning activities in recent years. These interactions support departmental research efforts, and provide graduate students with relevant experience with leading-edge technology

As one of the very first post-revolutionary graduate schools, the Faculty of Humanities was established in 1982 in compliance with the main objectives of the university, to train highly qualified and committed university academic staff
Management and Economics
The Establishment of the Faculty of Management and Economics was authorized in 2008 by the authority of the board of trustees of Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) and in accordance with the university's strategic plan. The formal activities of the faculty organized in eight departments commenced in 2009. However, the longer history of teaching and research activities of these departments goes back to 1980, the date of the establishment of TMU as the first revolutionary born, graduate university in Iran
Mathematical Sciences
Faculty of Mathematical Sciences is one of the major mathematics faculties in the Islamic Republic of Iran. It has an excellent research and education reputation, a strong, demanding program of graduate studies in mathematics, and a full range of excellent graduate courses

Medical Sciences
The Faculty of Medical Sciences started its educational and research activities early after the establishment of Tarbiat Modares University in 1983 inspired by the lofty goals of the Islamic Revolution of Iran to revive the glorious civilization and humanistic culture of Islam. This faculty focused its services on meeting the country's need for scientific, well-educated and committed human resources in order to boost medical sciences and promote the higher education in the country. In this regard, the faculty made extraordinary efforts to educate the scientific staff required by the country's universities over the last 40 years. Today, most of the graduates of this Faculty are the source of excellent services in universities, medical institutions, and decision-making centers in the field of health throughout the country. In addition, the graduated researchers contribute effectively to meeting the needs of the health sector in terms of vaccine production and natural medicines and other services required by the health sector. Now, this faculty, in line with the goals of Tarbiat Modares University, is striving to achieve scientific authority and excellence in science and technology, and to take powerful steps to realize the third-generation university and successfully experience the way to shine on the international stage.
Natural Resources
The campus of natural resources and marine sciences started in the university in 1363 and moved to Noor campus in 1369. Currently, there are two faculties with 8 educational groups and 11 courses that accept students in master's and doctorate levels. |
